In terms both of the expertise of execution and of the pathos which we perceive in the entangling of strident signs, here the artist has created a work which in its abstract expression borders on the figurative. It is not a descriptive canvas, but rather a gesture of the soul, in which the originality of the technique assumes a decisive role. Everything is possible for Lofilo, every gesture, every movement is a source of inspiration. Effectively, what he does first is to spread the colours on the canvas and then, with his infinite capacity for experimentation, from the edge of the swimming pool he follows the movements of his sister as she swims, holding his original work in two hands so that the splashes of the young swimmer wet the canvas. The result is a background of muted colours through which the creative process can be faintly perceived.
